Description
Join The Sill, MadreMonstera, and PlantManP for a Plant Swap at The Sill's WeHo Shop! All proceeds will go to The Ron Finley Project. The Sill is thrilled to be hosting their inaugural Plant Swap at their West Hollywood location with co-hosts Deianira of @madre_monstera and Jon & Jerrilyn of @plantmanp and @therealplantladyp. We hope to see you there! Plants parents have spoken: this past year, greenery helped us get by. Now as we enjoy our summer filled with socializing and sunshine, we have plenty of pandemic plants to show for ourselves. Plant swaps are a proven way to reconnect with nature and each other, and we’re thrilled to tap into this tradition by facilitating a plant swap in Los Angeles, a city our team calls home, while giving back to the community in the process. Swapping 101 A plant swap is when fellow plant enthusiasts, from beginners to experts, come together to swap or trade a healthy plant or cutting for another attendee’s healthy plant or cutting. It is a fun way to expand your plant collection, share the wealth of any plants you picked up during the pandemic, and meet local plant parents. Swap attendees will connect with fellow swappers one-on-one to trade, depending on what plant or cutting they are interested in. We recommend labeling your plant and including care instructions to set its new plant parent up for success! In addition to your plant(s), you can bring pots and planters you’d like to swap, for a new look and feel. Tickets The swap has timed entry tickets. Capacity is limited. Choose between the following slots: 4-5 PM, 5-6 PM, 6-7 PM. All ticket sales ($5 pp) will be donated to The Ron Finley Project. Ron Finley's vision is to rejuvenate and empower communities around the world through gardening, knowledge, and togetherness. If you are unable to attend the Plant Swap but would like to support The Ron Finley Project, you can do so here. More Details In accordance with the current CDC guidelines, masks are required to participate in the swap. Healthy plants, cuttings (with nodes or roots), and pots & planters are welcome to be swapped. Tickets are non-refundable. If the swap is canceled due to COVID-19 restrictions or poor weather, we will do our best to identify a new future date for ticket holders. Tickets are for a 1-hour entry: 4-5 PM, 5-6 PM, 6-7 PM. The Sill was founded on the premise that plants make people happy. There’s something in the simple act of being around, and caring for, plants that boosts our spirits and enhances our environments. It’s actually been established that every exposure to nature—from gardening to forest bathing to just sharing space with organic elements—mitigates the modern condition, that stressed-out state we find ourselves in all too often. So we offer new ways to infuse this restorative beauty into as many everyday rituals as possible, through biophilic design that increases your connection to the natural world. It will ground you, fortify you and light you up. We invite all to join us in cultivating a life well-lived. Shop 24/7 at thesill.com, or visit our stores in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Chicago.
