This hands-on training program introduces students to advanced rope rigging concepts and rescue techniques for handling Rescues from Trees.

𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗮𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗱𝘂𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝘂𝗽 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗰𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝗵𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗽𝗶𝗹𝗼𝘁𝘀, 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗵𝘂𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲.
Attendees should have prior rope rescue training There is a strong emphasis on both gaining access to victims and work positioning in the tree. Be sure to bring your helmet and Class III rescue harness, and be prepared to do some climbing!
The use of saws is an essential component of these rescues, so the program incorporates training on saw handling, knowledge of limbing and bucking techniques and safety considerations. Participants will receive a Chainsaw Safety and Cutting Techniques certificate through Bay College in Escanaba, MI that meets ANSI Standard Z133.
The Michigan Urban Search And Rescue Training Foundation offers Awareness, Operations & Technical level training for all Technical Rescue disciplines; Rope Rescue, Confined Space, Trench Rescue, Structural Collapse Rescue, Machine Rescue & Heavy Rigging.
