YORK – The spirit of Africa comes alive at the 1st Annual Africa Fashion Week (SDFS) in York PA On Oct 9, 2021. Held in the heart of York. YORK – The spirit of Africa comes alive at the 1st Annual Africa Fashion Show(SDFS) in York PA which will be on Oct 9, 2021. Held in the heart of YORK SDFS a single day event which included runway shows, vendor exhibits, and industry networking events with the stated purpose of raising awareness of African Fashion/professionals. York based kadijatuGrace, producer and designer of SDFS, showcased half day of showcasing designers from the African Diaspora. This year’s SDFS gave talented designers the opportunity to promote their brands on a global fashion stage. 7 handpicked designers from different parts of Africa including Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Liberia, Cameroon, Kenya, Ethiopia, and Zimbabwe were featured. The Runway segment will kicked off with a live wedding on the runway for We TV, a new reality show, airing January 2022. The bride walked down the runway wearing a design by DIJA'S TOUCH DESIGH. From the beautiful custom clothing designs to the vibrant colorful jewelry and shoes, the designers made a concerted effort to show their originality and by most accounts they will pull it off. Women making a difference in the lives of women struggling to create a new lifestyle after making so many mistakes in their past. I Kadijatu Grace Ahene is one of those women who never thought in my wildest dreams that i would be able to come out of living a self-destructive lifestyle. I am​ very passionate about reaching back into the community to empower women with self-destructive behaviors to seek a new lifestyle. My long-term goal is to open a nonprofit women center for women coming out of their brokenness and treatment programs. I am the founder and CEO of BROKEN CHAINS MINISTRY and the Yaweh's Women Empowerment workshop in Sierra Leone. The purpose of this mission will be to pull women out of less fortunate situations by empowering there mind, body and soul, the therapeutically Bible value of one woman helping another is the key to our organization. I feel who better to reach broken women but a woman that has been broken and made it out on the other side of that brokenness. Broken Chains women empowerment quarterly workshops has designed a concept to assist the women in identifying and healing the major wounds of life, addiction, co-dependency, and the trauma received in the process of living life. The organization focus is not only to assist in finding freedom from self-pitting, but also healing wounds, re-connecting the women with their authentic self at the core of their spiritual being. I believes there is strength in numbers. We are a self-motivated community of women given women a hand up not a hand out, our primary goal is to empower women to stand up and empower another woman to do the same. The women empowerment strives for a safe, inclusive, and compassionate environment where differences are valued and values are respected.
