WESTFIELD, NJ — Back-to-school planning has already begun in Westfield, with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day in the public schools.
The first day of school in Westfield, according to the current school calendar, is Sept. 9.
Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change as the coronavirus pandemic nears its year-and-a-half point. A mix of in-person, virtual and hybrid learning is still possible in some towns.
Westfield's new schools superintendent, Dr. Raymond Gonzalez, started work on Monday, so he has not released specifics of the new school year yet. "He will share plans for September soon," said a district spokesperson on Monday.
Here is the list of dates to know for this school year:
First Day: Sept. 9
Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 25-26 (Nov. 24 is a half day)
Winter Break: Dec. 24-31
Spring Break: April 11-18
Last Day: June 23
