AUSTIN, TX — A person was shot and killed in an east Austin shooting on Sunday, according to Austin police. Officers received a 911 call around 2:15 a.m. Sunday for a shots fired at 38 1/2 Street and Werner Avenue in the Cherrywood area. When officers arrived, they found a victim with gunshot wounds. Police performed CPR on the person; however, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have yet to release any information that would identify the victim or a possible suspect.
