CHATHAM, NJ — Back-to-school planning has already begun in Chatham, with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day in the School District of the Chathams. The first day of school for most students in Chatham is Aug. 30. Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change as the coronavirus pandemic nears its year-and-a-half point. A mix of in-person, virtual and hybrid learning is still possible in Chatham. As of Aug. 2, the School District of the Chathams is awaiting final guidance from the State of New Jersey on in-person school for most students, mask policies and other COVID-related guidance, heading into the 2021-2022 school year.
