Pittsburgh Concert Scene Gets Back On Track In August

PITTSBURGH, PA — After a dearth of live music in Pittsburgh for nearly a year and a half, the concert scene begins to return to normal in August. Several of the biggest names in rock, pop and country will be coming to town at PPG Paints Arena, Downtown, or at The Pavilion at Star Lake in Burgettstown. Among the acts you can see: James Taylor-Jackson Browne, Aug. 3, PPG Paints ArenaFans are hearing live for the first time tracks from Taylor's "American Standard" album released in March 2020 as the coronavirus outbreak took hold across the country. Browne is touring in support of "Downhill From Everywhere," which was released on July 23. It's his first album of new material in six years. Jason Aldean, Aug. 13, The Pavilion at Star LakeExpect to hear Aldean staples such as "We Back," "Tattoos on This Town," "Fly Over States," "A Little More Summertime," and Crazy Town." Maroon 5, Aug. 15, The Pavilion at Star LakeAdam Levine and company dropped their seventh album, "Jordi," in June It's a tribute to the band's late manager, Jordan Feldstein. Anticipate hearing tracks like that as well has hits such as "Animals," and "Moves Like Jagger." Kiss, Aug. 26, The Pavilion at Star LakeThe latest version of this band of masked maniacs says it is touring for the final time (yeah, right.) You can bet on hearing classic hits such as "Detroit Rock City," "Shout It Out Loud," and "Rock and Roll All Night." Dave Matthews Band, Aug. 27, The Pavilion at Star LakeRecent set lists from a band that's always been popular in Pittsburgh have included "#41" "Stay," "Dancing Nancies," and "Digging a Ditch."
