Location of Incident: Southern Iredell County Suspect(s): Anthony Lee Fox, 31 Years Old                    6 Old Plantation Drive                    Taylorsville, North Carolina 28681   Sheriff Darren Campbell stated: On November 19, 2020, the Iredell County Sheriff's Office received a report about an online scam where the suspect had posted an advertisement on Facebook Marketplace stating he wished to sell items of merchandise.  Detective C. Scannella with the Iredell County Sheriff's Office Economics Crime Unit was assigned to investigate the report. After Detective Scannella interviewed the victim, and located and interviewed additional witnesses, he was able to confirm the allegation, and learned the suspect, Anthony Lee Fox, was responsible for scamming several other victims.  Based on the evidence gathered through the investigation, Detective Scannella was able to receive and execute a search warrant on, Cash App, which yielded additional information.  As a result of this investigation, Anthony Lee Fox was charged with Felony Obtaining Property by False Pretense. Fox was arrested on Thursday, July 22, 2021 by the Hickory Police Department. Fox received a 2,200 dollar secured bond by a magistrate in Catawba County.   This press release was produced by the Iredell County Government. The views expressed here are the author's own.
