ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — A Freeport man Sunday was taken in custody, accused of inappropriately touching a 21-year-old worker at a Rockville Centre coffee shop, detectives said. Robert Tomo, 35, a regular customer at the restaurant, approached the female from behind and started the warranted touching on Friday afternoon, Nassau police said. The woman resisted, said she was not alright with it and he left the coffee shop, detectives said. However, when Tomo returned to the location Sunday morning, the victim recognized him and called 9-1-1. He was arrested without incident, police said. Tomo was due to be arraigned Monday in Hempstead on two counts of forcible touching, third-degree sexual abuse and fourth-degree stalking. Detectives ask anyone who may have been a victim of a similar incident to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
