Press release from the Atlanta Police Department: 08/01/2021 212130633 Preliminary information: On Sunday, August 1, 2021, at around 9:25 a.m., officers were dispatched to 1919 Metropolitan Pkwy on a pedestrian robbery call with shots being fired. Upon arrival, officers met with the victim, a Loomis Security Officer who stated after getting out of the armored vehicle he was driving, he was approached by the black male suspect who attempted to rob him at gunpoint.    The suspect took a money bag and took off running while firing gunshots at the victim. The victim was not struck, but did return fire with his own weapon. The suspect fled from the scene in a vehicle.  Investigators with the Robbery Unit were notified and will be working to identify the suspect involved.    Please keep in mind the above information is preliminary in nature and can change as the investigation progresses and new information comes to light This press release was produced by the Atlanta Police Department.
