THS Cover Band

Wouldn't it be cool to play shows every month or so to a bunch of hard Corey Hold Steady fans? I feel like THS has an obsessive enough fan base that lots of people would dig this. I could be the Craig, and I have a bunch of friends in bands or with connections in local music who could help us get gigs, etc. So I'd basically need a whole band of people into THS to get this going. Most of my friends here aren't into THS, especially the ones who play music sadly. We could also play covers of bands who THS reference and lean on heavily (The Band, The Clash, Springsteen, The Stooges, Dilinger Four, Billy Joel, Warren Zevon, Violent Femmes, etc.) I sang and played some guitar in punk bands back in Boston many years ago. Realized during the pandemic that I wanna play live again, and I wrote a few songs, but its become clear to me that I'd rather just have fun playing covers I love than going through the whole experience of trying to get strangers interested in playing (admittedly mediocre) songs I wrote. I'm in no rush, but I think this could be a really fun idea to follow through on. If a few of us could get together, I could hop right in knowing all the vocals for most songs on the first 4 records and a few other songs on more recent albums.
