13445 Hampton Road near 135th Street, Brookfield WI
Description
Hi ~ We find ourselves without a bass player for our "contemporary" service this next Sunday, August 8 which is extremely rare, but nobody is available from our usual assortment of 4 guest bass players. We're Immanuel Lutheran Church (Missouri Synod) in Brookfield, close to Butler (135th & Hampton).
Here's what you want to know:
• The service is when?:
Sunday, August 8 at our 9:30 service.
• Rehearsal during the week?:
No... I trust you can study up during the week from what I'll provide. This is how it works as we always use excellent musicians. I'll have the songs finalized by Tuesday night.
• Rehearse before the service?:
Yes... from 8:15 to about 9 in another room, while the 8 am traditional service is going on.
And then we can get into the sanctuary at 9:05+ish for sound check and additional run-thrus.
• What gear is provided?:
We have a Crate Bass Amp for warm up, plus a DIFFERENT Crate amp for the service.
• And the pay?:
It will be $ 75 total to you. That is our budget limit.
We'll have you fill out paperwork and a check would be cut with our regular check runs.
• What is the music/band like?
As the years go by I realize that "contemporary" means different things. I tend to go more "modern" than some churches, but not "too modern." And one of the songs will be a traditional hymn that I'll lead and give you ideas on. We'll have three or four singers which include myself, and I'm on keys. Our guest drummer will be on our Roland electronic drum kit. I don't have a guitarist this week.
• Could I hear/see a sample?
Yes, if you write back, I'll send you something to view.
Thank you and blessings on your evening!
Jay, Praise Band Leader
