Job Description DS Michael Furniture is hiring for the position of Shipping and Packaging. We are a producer of fine furniture and cabinetry for the Commercial, Hotel and Restaurant industries. This position has the opportunity to grow into a shipping manager, overseeing all incoming and outgoing freight. Tasks will include detailing finished products (hanging cabinet doors, setting glass/stone tops etc.) to prepare them for packaging/shipping. In some cases prior to packaging, you will be required to construct wooden crates and or pallets for items to be packed into. Tasks may include operating various hand tools, chop saws and table saws as needed in a production environment. It is necessary that you have a valid Driver's License as you will sometimes be delivering furniture and picking up items as needed around the valley in our company sprinter van. During your down time it may be necessary to assist in various departments. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for an 8 hour shift, be comfortable working around equipment in a shop environment.
