Join our Volunteer team to help Meals on Wheels in King County fight hunger! As a Meals on Wheels Volunteer, you will belong to a team committed to helping homebound seniors maintain their health and independence with nutritious food, personal contact, and caring service. We’re looking for someone available long-term for the following volunteer positions. Training will be provided. Volunteer Caller: A volunteer is needed to call Meals on Wheels participants for their weekly order on Friday mornings, 9 am – 12 pm. Volunteer Driver: A volunteer is needed to deliver meals to homebound seniors in Auburn, weekly or every other week, Friday mornings. Delivery drivers pick up meals around 8:30am and are typically done with their route in 2 hours. Mileage is reimbursable while making deliveries. Volunteer Packers: Volunteers are needed to help pack meals on Thursday mornings, 8:30-10 AM. Qualifications: Good communication and people skills, reliable, good cheer, and a commitment to the well-being of homebound elders. This is an on-going volunteer commitment. Requirements: Complete an application, consent to a background check, be able to lift 15lbs, be at least 18 years of age, and have a Washington state driver's license and insurance.
