Hi Tucson!! It's Dennis. My mother lived and worked in Tucson for about 15 years. At the Waffle House over on Valencia before moving to Georgia to work at another Wafflehouse in her 60's. She visited Tucson last year while I was living up in the Grand Canyon area and told me that she'd never return because it's grown so dirty. I've just recently returned and I'm not going to comment. I'm going to do my part as it's just grown to be to much for those tasked with doing so. Alot of people want to blame it on the homeless and the addicts but a little investigation proves that it's not just the homeless or addicted. The picture I used above was taken by me after a student at U of A moved to another state. You might say well it was probably tucked away nice and neat until some homeless person tore into those bags. It was but it was also 10 bags that couldn't fit inside of the students normal outside trashcan. It wasn't a homeless person that tore into the bags either. It was a guy in a moving truck who ended up getting confronted while digging threw the trash by a near by property owner. After being told to leave the property owner dug threw and took what he wanted from the mix. He did not pick up any trash. I've lived in 5 different states these last 10 years or so and I prefer working over dumpster diving. I have however done my fare share of dumpster diving and guess what!! All our trash smells the same.. As a matter of fact some wealthy communities or luxury communities trash smells worse than the middle class and poor. I figure it's because of the amount of organically grown foods vs preservative riddled food she canned goods. Anyways let's create a community date to walk the washes and river beds, alleys and streets and make Tucson as beautiful as it can be. The first meeting will be to "Talk Trash" rant and rave, coordinate saftey and make grids. Then we will sweep these streets of the trash.
