Description
Are you a musician who is running sound from the stage, and want your band to sound better with less work?
Do you need help setting up, learning or optimizing your system or new equipment?
Tired of playing in the dark or settling for mediocre house lights, or want to add visual impact?
Then I can help.
I am a degreed electrical engineer, and amateur musician who has been mixing and producing sound for 40 years. I am familiar with almost all types of equipment, analog and digital, small to large systems, and learn quickly. I have a musicians ear, a producers mind and an engineers technical talent to know what to do, and how to get it done.
I have worked for many bands as sound engineer and enjoy mixing all genres of music. I strive for a studio sound with the vocals on top with intelligibility and balanced harmonies, instruments emphasized during leads, and a solid drum and bass foundation. I like working closely with the band to produce a sound that is more than the sum of the parts, more than the sound coming off the stage. I engineer the appropriate effects and learn the songs and set lists and can run lights to produce a professional show.
I’m a methodical troubleshooter, a follow the checklist technician, and use of my knowledge of acoustics, electronics and audio to understand and manage the optimal delivery of sound. I can train your volunteers or friends in the areas of knowledge they lack. I can optimize your system for proper gain, balance, equalization, decay and sound pressure levels. If you have invested in gear and are not getting your money’s worth, I can help you learn how to use it.
I’m retired from my full time career, so I’m very reasonable and my schedule is flexible. I will travel within an hour of Central Ohio.
Please contact me and tell me your situation and what you need. I’m here to help. Thanks!
