Standup Seminary is a beginner's foundation course in standup comedy. The Lincoln Lodge has created The Stand-Up Seminary - a beginners foundation course that strives to give prospective performers the confidence and skills they need to begin a career in standup comedy or just have some fun trying a new experience! The 5 week course is founded on the comedy principles of the critically acclaimed Lincoln Lodge, a national leader in cultivating and developing new comedy talent. The class requires no previous stand up comedy or writing experience and culminates with a live performance of the material developed in class. The weekly 2 hour sessions of this course will focus on: Joke structure Development of material Finding an attitude and persona Connecting with an audience Creating a cohesive set Class schedule is as follows: Tuesday, November 2nd at 7:00-9:00 pm (CST US) Tuesday, November 9th  at 7:00-9:00 pm (CST US) Tuesday, November 16th  at 7:00-9:00 pm (CST US) Tuesday, November 23rd  at 7:00-9:00 pm (CST US) Tuesday, November 30th  at 7:00-9:00 pm (CST US) Grad Show: Tuesday, December 7th at 8:00 pm Class instructor: Dan Drees All students will receive an email no later than one day prior to their class start date confirming dates, times and location. REFUND Policy: Full refunds are available any time up to 5 days before the first class commences. Refunds after that time are at the course administrator's discretion. ROLLOVER Policy: If you are not able to participate in class after registration and the refund window has expired you can potentially roll your registration over to the next course session provided space is available. This is subject to course administrator's discretion and a $40 administration fee. Please note there is NO facility to rollover classes once you have attended ANY classes. The Lincoln Lodge requires all students to be fully vaccinated. Known primarily for the nation’s longest running independent comedy show (The Lincoln Lodge) we also produce special events, help others organizations to raise money with comedy events and offer classes (Feminine Comique and Stand-Up Seminary) to encourage more community participation in stand-up comedy. We have been very successful at nurturing local talent and can point to a long line of alumni like Hannibal Burress, Kyle Kinane, T.J. Miller, Pete Holmes and Cameron Esposito who all got their start at The Lodge. Our reputation for professionalism, talent and integrity means organizations such as Just for Laughs and Comedy Central have invited us to collaborate with them.
