Sorting clothing and toys for children in need in Chicago
Volunteers play a critical role at the Sharehouse by helping sort and inventory donations of baby and toddler essentials for children in need across Chicago.
Volunteering at the Sharehouse is family-friendly! We have lots of fun and engaging activities for our littlest volunteers. Activities include making cards, sorting clothes, and doing quality checks on toys and books. Volunteers must be at least 6 years old. There must be at least one adult for every two children between the ages of 6 and 10. A ticket must be purchased for all children.
IMPORTANT COVID UPDATES PLEASE READ:
To ensure the safety of all volunteers and our families we require all volunteers wear a mask and gloves while working in our Sharehouse. Gloves will be provided. All volunteer sessions are limited to ensure proper social distancing.
Our mission is to ensure every child in Chicago has the essentials they need to thrive in the first five years of life. We do this by collecting new and gently used baby items from those with “extras” to spare and distributing them to families living in poverty through a sustainable network of volunteers, community stakeholders, and social service agencies.
