Great Conversation - New Friends - Fire Places - Good Food - Endless Laughs - Fresh Ideas - Serious Fun. The Saltchick Retreat’s goal is simple. Get to know other female mariners. Ask the questions you haven’t had a chance to ask someone. Ask for career guidance. Or don’t. Just enjoy the company of some seriously bad ass women. This years theme: Navigating Equinox. How to find balance in your life - both at home and aboard. Aloha!  My name is Megan.  I grew up in Hilo, Hawaii where I still live.  After graduating High School I attended the Maine Maritime Academy and began my career at sea in 2005.  I've been on the water in some way shape or form every since.  I'm currently sailing as CM on ocean going tugs - and really, really enjoying myself! I believe in community and, I like to have fun!  Have you ever just wanted to 'talk out a problem' you were having in the industry and drawn a blank with who to call?  I have.  Have you ever just felt curious about other ladies in the industry?  I have!  I'd like to chat out challenges I'm facing.  I'd like to have fun with like minded women.  I'd like to build a community!   There will never be a 'good time' to host a meetup.  There will never be a way to host a meetup without kinks that need to get worked out and improvements for the next one however; there is never a better time to start than now.  Sometimes you just have to make shit happen!
