Health Aid of Ohio presents wheelchair evaluation, prescription, selection and accessories for general users and special populations. DAY ONE: You will begin the conference by looking at the science of a mat evaluation for manual and power wheelchairs. The instructor will then dive into skin protections (seat cushions and backs). The day will end with considerations for the bariatric population specifically those clients suffering from lymphedema. DAY TWO: You will learn about the different power bases and how to select the appropriate power base for your clients. You will explore postural, head and neck supports and their benefit to function. The conference will finish with a pediatric power mobility course (this course is optional and will give you 2 CEUs if attended).
