The 4th Annual Synth Slam is a multipurpose, interactive event functioning as a synth meet up with 6 jam stations + live synth performances Welcome to the 4th Annual Synth Slam! This year is set to be SUPER with live performances from local and national artists plus 6 interactive jam stations featuring units from Korg, Moog, and Oberheim. The synth slam started in 2017 as a way to create a platform for synth practitioners and enthusiasts within a supportive, encouraging, and positive environment. The spirit of the slam is not only to enjoy making music, but sound creation as well. This year, have fun exploring and creating on 6 jam stations featuring Korg, Moog, and Oberheim units graciously provided by several members of our synth community. Feel the excitement of interacting with sound in real time! Heaphones will be provided. However, if you'd like to bring your own, please make sure you have a 1/4inch jack or have a 1/8inch (small headphone) to 1/4inch (big headphone) adaptor handy. AND as always, please feel free to bring a synth, play a synth, share a synth at your own comfort level. This is a supportive environment, we've had lots of different types of synthesizers show up at the Synth Slams... and that's what this is about: Community! We will have space in the back patio near the other jam stations with a few available power strips (never hurts to bring an extra!). As we will not have PA on the patio, headphones are The Way. As in year's past, this event also supports and advocates for the health and mental wellness of suicide survivors. We will be asking for a small donation at the door, for those who can, to help sustain and support the services of Franklin County LOSS (https://losscs.org). There will be a representative from LOSS onsite during the slam to help answer questions, provide support, and supply information about their incredible organization.
