The Pocket Presents: Friends of Pluto w/ Smokin on Planes Friends of Pluto is one of DC's hottest cover bands, bringing you tunes that span the past five decades with a strong focus on the very best rock n roll of the 90s and 2000s — along with a few indie gems guaranteed to get your pulse pumping and feet moving.Originally formed as part of the 7DrumCity Flashband series, Friends of Pluto has made a name for itself with high-energy live shows and a unique setlist that never fails to have the audience singing along with classic hits (and some songs you love, but may have forgotten about). The band's strong rhythm section, blazing guitars, soaring vocals and tight harmonies have helped Friends of Pluto pack venues across DC, from The Pocket to Exiles to the Wonderland Ballroom, and elsewhere. Smokin' on Planes was born in the sweaty practice rooms of 7DrumCity, right here in Washington, DC. They bring a post-punk sound marrying garage rock, catchy melodies, and dark tones. Their sound sits comfortably among the explosive alternative rock of the 90s, while reaching to both the more distant past and the edge of now. Despite its size, The Pocket quickly established a reputation for incredible acoustics, spectacular lighting, and memorable experiences in a warm, cozy environment.  7DC is a unique music hub and incubator with 16 total rooms within two connected 3-story houses and a rear carriage house offering music lessons, rehearsal space, epic themed showcases called Flashband, a gear repair shop called Rock'n Repair, and a live music venue called The Pocket. 7DC builds culture and community in DC by supporting musicians and hobbyists in their quest to learn, rehearse, and perform.
