MAYA BELARDO sings STEVIE WONDER Unscripted Jazz at SOUTH Maya's beautiful, angelic voice sings the music of Stevie Wonder. MAYA BELARDO - Thursday, August 12 Two Shows 7 pm and 9:00 pm (We request guests to arrive by 6:30 pm to be seated for the 7 pm show) Doors Open at 5:50 pm Maya’s love for jazz began after hearing Nat King Cole’s, “Nature Boy,” in a movie. It sparked her discovery of all the legendary jazz of that era. However, Nat King Cole still remains her favorite along with Ella Fitzgerald. The “songbird” as she is called by many, has sung at various cultural events around the city since the age of 10. It was not until Middle School that she realized her ability to sing jazz after joining the school’s jazz group, “Jazz Chords”; she then traveled around singing at various venues and jazz competitions with the group. Maya was honored to be a part of the American High School Honors Performance Choir that gave her the great opportunity to perform at the prestigious Carnegie Hall in NYC. She vowed then to return as a headliner one day. Maya has embarked on that journey to make her dreams come true. She has been busy perfecting her craft, singing at various events in DE and around the Tri-State area. vocalists
