In this 90-minute class, you will learn about whole grains and ancient grains, with a focus on the wonderful “it” grain of the moment: spelt.
Spelt is a delicious flour that can be used in place of all-purpose flour; it has a nutty flavor, a moist interior, and many health benefits.
During the class, you will get your hands in the dough and mix, shape, and bake spelt rolls to welcome the autumn, and consider how to use spelt for the Thanksgiving holiday. Different shapes and hearty toppings for spelt bread will also be demonstrated.
You will take your baked rolls home along with a complete Spelt Bread Kit so you can practice making more spelt bread in your own home kitchen.
