FWFD Swift-Water Attack Teams are tasked with responding to high water rescues, severe weather events, or large scale incidents city wide. The FWFD maintains two stations that serve as Swift Water / Under Water Search and Rescue response stations in the city with the ability to recall additional personnel to increase response capabilities for severe weather events or large scale incidents. Each Swift-Water Attack Team is comprised of 4 Swift-Water Technicians and are tasked with responding to high water rescues city wide. The teams also assist the FWPD with evidence search and recovery as requested. At our August Citizens Fire Academy class, you will learn more details about the above and even get an up close and personal hands on look at some of the tools, boats, and etc. our Technicians use to do their job! We hope you can join us! This class will take place indoors within our climate controlled Training Warehouse at the Bob Bolen Public Safety Complex. The Fort Worth Fire Department's Citizens Fire Academy (CFA) is now a monthly event that any resident of Fort Worth, 16 years of age and older, can attend for free. There is no obligation to attend every month and no application is required. The CFA is an opportunity for the community to engage with firefighters and learn the many disciplines supported by the Fort Worth Fire Department. Classes are held once a month and will include demonstrations as well as hands-on participation.
