Mark Your Calendars for Elgin's 2021 Empty Bowl Project
The Bastrop County Emergency Food Pantry proudly serves the Elgin community and it’s residents that are experiencing hunger. We invite YOU to come out on Saturday, November 13, 11am - 1:30pm to show your support for our neighbors in need and enjoy a meal with your family and friends. Delight your taste buds by sampling soups, stews and chilies prepared by some of Elgin’s best chefs. Each ticketed attendee will also take home a hand painted ceramic soup bowl and the satisfaction that they have helped sustain food support to Elginites in need. The Empty Bowl Project is a national grassroots effort to fight hunger. The basic premise is simple: Potters and other craftspeople, educators and others work with the community to create handcrafted bowls. The beautiful hand painted bowls serve as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world. Thank you in advance for your support of this vital cause.
The mission of the Bastrop County Emergency Food Pantry & Support Center is to serve Bastrop County Residents going through periods of transition by providing Emergency Food Assistance, Education & Support.
At a time when charitable giving is crucial for those in need, your generosity is greatly appreciated and goes to help those with the very basic need of food. In addition to the elderly struggling against rising prices on fixed incomes are the increasing numbers of families of displaced workers. Please consider giving generously. See additional ways to support us on our help page.
