Fretwell presents a festive bike parade along the Rail Trail prior to the Crit. Join Drafts@Drayton and ride the Trail to our Crit tent. Drafts @ Drayton (formerly The Hub City Brewfest) is so excited about the return of the Crit that we're organizing a celebratory pre-Crit bike parade along th Rail Trail. Special thanks to Fretwell for helping make it happen. Join us on Friday August 20th by 4:30pm at the Vic Bailey Subaru Bike Park (located at the Southern end of the Mary Black Foundation Rail Trail). Ride your favorite bike, costumes and bells are optional (but encouraged). Costume contest winners (bikes can also be dressed up) get a free ticket to the Drafts@Drayton Event on Saturday September 25th! We'll casually ride along the Rail Trail and into downtown making a half loop of the Crit course before ending at the Drafts @ Drayton Tent on Main Street. We'll enjoy a little entertainment by Snidely Sidewinder & the Unrepentant Uke Boys before the Crit begins. Riders are welcome to enjoy the race from the tent. This is a free parade, except for for those 21 and over who would like to enjoy a beer from Holliday Brewing in the tent. This is a Family Fun event so bring the kids! We'll arrive at the Crit course by 5:10 and in time for kids to then participate in the Kids Ride at 5:20/30. We're collecting donations for Coalition for Active Youth (CAY). CAY champions adventurous active living projects and have spearheaded the Hot Spot Skate Park and the Vic Bailey Subaru Bike Park. Ride at your own risk, please wear helmets and plan to take any safety precautions necessary. This is an informal ride that will cross a couple of busy streets on a busy day en route to downtown (including Henry Street at the Union Street intersection). Riders are responsible for their bikes and belongings during the race. There is a parking area near the Drafts@Drayton Crit Tent that should have ample bike parking.
