SMALL MUSSEL FARM IN SOUTH PUGET SOUND, WASHINGTON, LOOKING FOR FULL-TIME MANAGER. Do you love boats, shellfish, and working outdoors on the water? Are you curious about the basic biology of marine life? Do you enjoy working as part of a team and managing other people? If the answer is yes to the above, that is a good start! The following qualities are required for this position: - Good management skills, to oversee a crew of six - Willingness to develop skills in working with boats, tides, and many aspects of shellfish farming - Physical fitness and hardiness to the elements (working outdoors year-round in all weather conditions) - Basic mechanical ability for maintaining all manner of equipment - Good customer relations and interpersonal skills - Ability to multi-task and maintain a positive attitude under pressure - Willingness to work long hours at (sometimes) tedious tasks - Creative thinking, always with an eye on safety as a priority - Flexibility in an ever-changing environment This is an enjoyable and rewarding position, but not always an easy job.
