We're partnering with Triple Bottom Brewing and West Poplar Neighborhood Group for a street cleanup and Afterjawn this month, join us! On August 14 we are super excited to partner with our friends over at Triple Bottom Brewing and the West Poplar Neighborhood Group so we can help pick up litter and weeds in the area! We'll kick off the morning by meeting up in front of Triple Bottom Brewing and hear from Tess Hart (the co-founder and owner at Triple Bottom) and a representative from the West Poplar Neighborhood Group. Now about these parters... West Poplar Neighborhood Group (find them on Insta @westpopneighbors ) is dedicated to building, engaging, connecting, and supporting our diverse community. They have been doing important work in our community, and we can't wait to hear more from them and the impact they've had.Triple Bottom Brewing has a vision that everyone in every community should have the opportunity to craft something great. Their mission is to create moments of joy and connection, empower each other to craft a better future, and protect the health of the planet. They're a fair chance business, and their team is the heart & soul of their brewery. They're called Triple Bottom Brewery because they have a triple bottom line: beer, people, planet. Event details: We'll be assigning blocks to clean up upon your arrival, all volunteers will meet up in front of Triple Bottom Brewing before we break off into our cleanup crews.Street parking is available without fees.Dress according to the weather in clothing conducive to picking up trash, including close-toed shoes.We recommend bringing your own reusable water bottle!We'll be doing street by street cleaning, and pending the number of volunteers in attendance we will also be pulling weeds.We will have work gloves, trash pickers, and garbage bags available, but please feel free to bring your own as well.AFTERJAWN! Once we've finished the cleanup at 12:00pm, we'll party VU style at an Afterjawn hosted by Triple Bottom Brewing! Cheers, VU PHL The concept is simple - we volunteer with a different nonprofit organization in Philadelphia on the second Saturday of every month from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., then spend the afternoon at a local bar for food, drinks, networking and fun with fellow, like-minded individuals. This program was created to give young professionals the opportunity for inspiring and rewarding experiences that will help forge a passion for future volunteering – both with our organization and on their own. Volunteering Untapped was born out of the realization that young professionals in Baltimore, Chicago, and Philadelphia want to give back to their community, but simply don’t know the best way to get involved. We solve that problem. Our mantra? Volunteering…made easy.
