Hi there! I am a 33-year old singer/songwriter who just moved to the area in July and am seeking a bass player and drummer to form a band. I've played a couple open mics since I've moved here and have gotten pretty good responses to my material, so I'm looking to push my project into the next level - I did have a version of my project as a band back where I used to live and am hoping to continue the project with another set of players. Touchpoints include Sloan, Silkworm, Ted Leo/Pharmacists, Big Star, Blur, The Jam, Archers of Loaf, Sebadoh, Belle and Sebastian, Elvis Costello, Fugazi, Jawbox, and other bands of that nature. I'm into stuff that's noisy and angular but poppy at the same time, and that's the kind of music I want to play.
Having your own gear, transportation, and your own shit together is essential (I have a bass amp and pedals if absolutely necessary). Having previous experience in bands and with songwriting/the creative process would be a big plus - as well as being able to sing backup.
Not looking to make a living/"make it" off of my music but I take my music seriously - I'll be happy if we can record/tour regularly and develop a following.
