ride on lawnmower with exhaust valve problem...loose

Any repair men out there to do work for senior citizen. Briggs and Stratton 18 OHV engine. I took the valve cover off and the rocker arm is all loose so far out of adjustment that the valve needs to be fixed or replaced. Any thoughts?
