I am an experienced musician who's performed in bands and in a cappella groups and would like to create an a cappella men's group with peers in SD. Playing instruments is fun but requires more practice and rehearsal time so I'm looking to see if I can get a group going more quickly.
I can write but I'd first like to just sing some standards. The genre doesn't really matter. I'd do the latest trendy song or the oldest classic. I care about good songs that are fun to sing.
Reading music and learning your part on your own is a must. Singing on pitch is a must as well. I'm looking for musician/peer/friends. The focus is on having a good time, making some good music, and gigging a bit. I'm married with a 15 mo. old at home so this will be important but not my sole activity. I'm thinking once per week to meet would work.
If you're interested, send me a message and include something about yourself, a description of what you're interested in doing, and your musical experience and skills (i.e., sight reading?, piano?, vocal part). The photo is from 2014. I took a hiatus from music but am now getting back in to it.
Cheers,
Justin
