I was reminded today of Ollie the Pit Bull who was stabbed 50 times and left for dead stuffed in a suitcase. When they finally found the perpetrator, they discovered remains of MANY animals who had suffered the same torture that Ollie did. Remember, due to the lack of oversight and the anonymity that Craigslist allows, it is a preferred method of obtaining animals for people like Ollie’s murderer. It is better to find a rescue group that has the time and resources to make sure the innocent animal you are abandoning doesn’t end up in the wrong hands.
