Learn the basics of pipetting and serial dilutions in our second QC2 Crash Course class. These skills are critical for brewery QC! Master pipetting and dilutions in QC2 Crash Course #2! Class will start with an introduction to pipetting technique and dilution math before transitioning to hands-on learning in the lab. Participants will become familiar with different styles of pipettes, how to properly use them, and what to look for when purchasing pipettes for your brewery. Participants will also learn how to properly calculate dilution factors and prepare serial dilutions by weight and by volume. QC2 Crash Course is brought to you by the Quality Control Collaboratory, a premier beer QC testing lab located in the University of Southern Maine. Luci Benedict, QC2 founder, and Sam White, QC2 lab coordinator, will be joined by Matt Nelson of Bissell Brothers Brewing for these practical, hands-on classes designed to build the skills needed to start up, or expand, your brewery's QC program.
