Barney Martin has been on the music/humor/acting scene around Maine for decades.
Barney performed 20+ years in the band Coos Canyon, the comedy troupe “The Maine Hysterical Society” and doing humorous Maine / New England TV commercials/voiceovers as well as film work. He is the voice for “Peter the Great” by Kirill Shiropov - a project currently in production in Toronto, Canada.
Barney has travelled Europe with a touring company, has played the Birdland Café in NYC as the special guest of Luci Arnaz and has opened for Livingston Taylor several times in his long and varied career.
Last summer, Barney returned to playing solo with a weekly show at The Royal Anchor in OOB (where he first played in 1977 in a band “Full Sail”) and Spring 2021 had a sold out show broadcasting live from Johnson Hall in Gardner where people tuned in from nine states to hear his show dedicated to the music of James Taylor.
Barney will have appearances this summer at The Royal Anchor in OOB, Anthony’s Kitchen in the Old Port, The Poland Springs Resort, and a special show “for guests only” at The Merry Manor in South Portland Sat 7/3 from 7pm – 9pm. FMI - please visit their websites.
