Whimsy Hike is an outdoor play group for families that have young children The goal of this play group is to connect families together, to get kids playing outside, develop new skills, and to have fun. All groups are for families and are interactive. The content of this event will be geared towards ages 6-8 years old. Classes are held at various parks throughout Central Ohio and take place rain or shine. Play groups are intentionally planned to teach children social emotional skills through kinesthetic play and movement. Caregivers are involved in children’s play by following directions on an activity card to engage in back and forth interaction. It is said that if kids can consume 1200 hrs worth of screen time then the time is there to lessen screen time and get outside more. Going outside is the easy part, but finding ways to engage your child may be challenging. The outdoor play group will give you inspiration on things to do when outside with your little one, no more boring days at the park.
