Description
Intuitive Mark Making is a workshop designed to reconnect individuals to a fundamental and primary human experience of creative play. Objective Intuitive Mark Making is a workshop designed to reconnect individuals to a fundamental and primary human experience of being creative. Creativity is built into our DNA, but many people suffer from crippling creative wounding which evidences itself in insecurity and fear of vulnerability when considering the process of being openly creative. Creativity is our natural mechanism of problem solving and a generative activity, it allows us to explore ideas playfully and without fear of failure. This workshop is designed to help individuals reengage with the idea of creative practice through building somatic awareness, deep listening skills and being in non judgement with the act of mark making. Goals In this workshop we will begin to understand how creative wounding is locked in the body. We will explore originating triggers of contraction in the creative mind and body, and how we might begin to find new ways of holding and expressing creativity through mark making. This workshop is designed to build somatic awareness, engage and break down limiting beliefs and stories about creativity and what it is, and who has access to it. We will work to release creative contraction and insecurity in 2 days of creative engagement. Outcome Recognizing and working to heal creative wounds allows for a more robust engagement with life. Active creativity diminishes insecurity in expressing ideas and editing ideas before we give them a chance. This work can begin to offer new ways of working, increase feelings of productivity, and create time for unconscious integration of ideas and problem solving, create a sense of time affluence, and help us move toward states of flow personal and work time.
