Memorial Service to Honor Deputy Drew Mazur, The Citadel Class of 2001 and Greenville, SC Sheriff's Office On 17 August 2003 at approximately 5:15pm Deputy Drew Mazur (GCSO) was killed in the line of duty at #2 Columbia Ave, Greenville, SC. Drew Mazur was a member of Golf Company, The Citadel Class of 2001. To honor his service and sacrifice, the members of Golf Company Class of 2001, in conjunction with their 20 year class reunion, are hosting a memorial service for Drew at the day, hour and location of his murder. The purpose of this event is threefold: To Honor and remember the service and sacrifice of Deputy Drew Mazur. To honor and support current law enforcement personnel in the Greenville, SC area, throughout the state of South Carolina and the United States. To honor the next generation of law enforcement personnel through the official announcement and unveiling of the Deputy Drew Mazur, Citadel Class of 2001, Academic Scholarship and fundraising campaign. This event is free and open to the public. A majority of the service will occur indoors, however a short 1/8 mile walk to the memorial site will conclude the event. Attire is summer business casual. The 1/8 mile walk to the memorial site will occur rain or shine. All are welcome and encouraged to attend to honor the service of Deputy Mazur, show their support for law enforcement and raise awareness for the academic scholarship. Upon conclusion of the service a full menu free meal will be provided for the first 100 guest. *Please share this post and invite as many people as possible.
