Jason, Monique, and Matt McGregor, the Transylvania Times News Paper Reporter, came to write his last story on Jason's opening the Village Blacksmiths in the Brevard, NC, area. Matt McGregor wrote the story on Jason when he finished Forged in Fire in Season 5, Espisode 39 in 2019. We were happy to have him visit and take a class with Jason to make his own horse shoe knife that looked like an old fashion razor. Matt was amazed at how much it took to swing a hammer and pound a horseshoe into a knife. The story included all the owners , Jason Brown, Monique Brown, and Steve Revis here at Village Blacksmiths. Monday, July 5, 2021 edition . Summer Brown, our daughter, gave blacksmithing a try for the first time. She made a leaf and a steak turner. Steve with students, father and son. They were happy with their horse shoe knives . Jason teaching how to make a ruin pendent and a horseshoe knife. Wow, that's so cool. This fella went to town on making his ruin pendent. He wrote the meaning of his name in another language. Pretty good right. Great job. Him and his brother had a blast. Steve's student is 8 years old and is learning how to make a horseshoe knife. Pretty good right. Impressive. A father and son day of fun. He kinda looks like Kurt Russell, but Not! Funny. They had a blast. They both made horseshoe knives and Steve made them sheaths. This 8 year old boy made his knife all on his own. He didn't want any help. I think he did a pretty good job. High five!
