MERRICK, NY — Dr. Dominick Palma, the Merrick school district superintendent of schools, is adding a new position to his resume. Palma has been appointed to serve as president-elect of the Nassau County council of schools superintendents. In the role, Palma will assist the president and serve as an integral member of the organization's executive board, the Merrick school district said in a release. "This involvement provides a valuable platform to discuss issues affecting our school districts and allows me to share information about what is happening within our own district." Palma said in a statement. "I look forward to continuing my work alongside other educational leaders within the county for the 2021-22 school year." Palma also chairs the NCCSS Mental Health and Substance Abuse Committee and is a member of the organization's safety and legislative committees.
