WOODBRIDGE, VA — The Lowes on Smoketown Road in Woodbridge was robbed by a woman wielding pepper spray on Tuesday evening, according to the Prince William County Police Department. The accused woman was arrested on Friday, July 30 in Howard County, Maryland.
In a report, the Prince William County Police Department said they were called to the Lowes at 13720 Smoketown Road around 12 p.m. on Wednesday to investigate a theft. A Lowes employee told police officers that the incident began when a woman brought her cart full of items to the self-checkout.
At the self-checkout, the woman became confrontational and began yelling at an employee, according to the police report. Authorities said that the woman then took out a can of pepper spray and threatened the employee with it.

After completing her threats, employees said the woman left the store with her cart of unpaid items, pepper spray in hand. The woman did not pepper spray anyone during the encounter, according to the police report.
Video surveillance showed the woman enter a gold Toyota Camry before fleeing the area, police said. The business reported a patio heater and propane tanks were missing.
After their investigation, police officers identified the accused woman as Lakiesha Ruth Morgan, a resident of Elkridge, Maryland. On Friday, Morgan was arrested by members of the Howard County Police Department.

She is charged with robbery, petit larceny, and illegal use of a caustic substance. She is currently incarcerated, and her court date is pending.
