BOULDER COUNTY, CO — A music teacher in unincorporated Boulder County is accused of sexually assaulting four of his students.
Da'Jon Tyrik James, 27, was arrested Thursday and faces several charges, including two counts of sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust, and one count of unlawful sexual contact, the Boulder County Sheriff's Office said.
James taught at Alexander Dawson High School near Gunbarrel.
Boulder County Child Protective Services contacted deputies in early February after four students reported that James touched them sexually, authorities said. The sheriff's office then launched an investigation.
"The four female students disclosed they were subjected to inappropriate language, sexually explicit imagery, prolonged hugging, fondling, inappropriate complementing, and inappropriate kissing on their foreheads," The Boulder County Sheriff's Office said in a news release.
"All the alleged incidents occurred on school property during school hours."
