AAUW Naperville Used Book Sale returns August 19-21!

After a year’s absence caused by the pandemic, the AAUW Naperville Area Used Book Sale returns to a new location in downtown Naperville. The book sale will be held at the Old Stone Church, 14 S. Washington, St. Naperville, August 19-21. Free parking is available in the Naperville Parking deck across Washington Street and around Central Park. Please follow the signs to enter at the rear of the church building. We have books of all types- hardcover/paperback, fiction/ nonfiction, all priced at $1-$2 except for Fab Finds. Books will be displayed but not finely sorted so plan to come and search for treasures. On opening day, Thursday, August 19, from 9:00 am- 10:30 am- only adult Early Bird Ticketholders will be admitted. Tickets are available via Eventbrite and are $20- information at: https://naperville-il.aauw.net/. From 10:30 am- 1:00 pm, Tickets will be available at the door for $15, and children under 12 will be admitted for free. From 1:00 pm- 7:30 pm, admission will be free and remain so for the remainder of the sale. Friday, August 20, hours will be 9:00 am- 7:30 pm, Saturday, August 21, hours will be 9:00 am- 1:00 pm, Bag Day! All items, except Fab Finds, will be ½ price or $10 a bag. The AAUW Naperville Area Used Book Sale is AAUW’s major fundraiser. The proceeds support our mission of supporting gender equity for women and girls. In 2021, we funded 3 $5,000 Scholarships to local college women- our traditional $ 5,000 Angeline Gale Scholarship and, thanks to a generous donor, two $5,000 Ruth Bader Ginsburg Memorial Scholarships for women in STEM. Additionally, we sponsored 6 local college age women, from Benedictine and North Central College, to attend the National Conference for College Women Student Leaders.
