PALM DESERT, CA — One person died early Saturday morning after their vehicle crashed into a pole, sparking a fire, officials said. Rescue crews were dispatched to the 73000 block of Highway 111 near Palm Desert Drive North at 1:26 a.m., where they discovered the crashed vehicle on fire. The fire was quelled shortly after firefighters arrived, the Riverside County Fire Department tweeted Saturday. No other details about the crash were immediately available.
