At the July 23rd special board meeting, the Castro Valley Unified School District Board of Education took action to select Aaron Ackerman for the position of Director of Maintenance, Operations and Transportation. Mr. Ackerman is replacing Mr. Gary Krebbs. Mr. Ackerman currently serves as our Operations Supervisor; a position he has held since July 2020. Prior to serving as Operations Supervisor, Mr. Ackerman has held a variety of positions in the Castro Valley Unified School District, including: Lead Buildings & Grounds Worker at Castro Valley High School, Buildings & Grounds Worker (CVHS & Castro Valley Elementary), & Special Education Paraprofessional (Alma, Creekside, & Various Elementary Schools). He has been an employee of the district since November 2003. Mr. Ackerman has demonstrated great leadership during the pandemic and brings both experience and familiarity with the district to the director position. Mr. Ackerman has received several awards during his tenure in the district including the Mid-Alameda County SELPA Excellence in Special Education, and Custodian of the Year and the Dan Curry Custodian Program of the Year awarded by the Castro Valley Sanitary District.
