Description

... likeminded *seasoned artists interested in crafting original material to record, release, and perform live. Artists Sought: - Bassist (preferably one who can play keys - and other stringed instruments) - Lead/Rhythm guitarist (PLEASE make sure your style is compatible with the influences mentioned). - Drummer/Percussionist - Woodwinds? A big maybe. If you can also play keys and/or guitars you're in for sure. The Sound and Vision: A distillation of the following artists (among others) with an added touch of maturity and spunky gray: Van Morrison (the early years) Monophonics/Kelly Finnigan Elton John (the early years) Alabama Shakes Can Lee Hazlewood Davy Graham Velvet Underground Tom Waits Morphine/Mark Sandman Stephen Stills Nick Drake Elliott Smith Ben Harper Rodriguez ("Sugar Man") Richard Swift Neko Case Marvin Gaye Lynn Castle Lee Fields The Heavy James Gang Iron & Wine The Growlers Cold War Kids (early work) Ghost Funk Orchestra Faces Rod Stewart (the early years) Dusty Springfield Conor Oberst Fred Neil Cotton Jones... (and touches of heads both Radio and Portis to tweak those knobs) My Role: Lead vocalist, principle lyricist, songwriter, rhythm and fingerstyle guitarist. My vocal style ranges from crooning and raspy/gravelly to a moderate falsetto. I've been compared to a mix of Van Morrison and White Buffalo meets Hozier and the Righteous Brothers... with whitening sideburns. The Brass Tacks: - *As a more seasoned and mature person I'm looking for artists in their 30's to 50's. - Male, female... If you fit, you fit. - Art first, image at a distant second (appearance-wise I look Outlaw Country meets Long Island). - NO substance issues whatsoever. PERIOD. I've wasted too much of my life with such people already. No more. - No dogma. Political, religious, or otherwise. - A well developed sense of humor is key. Let's grab a beer🍻
