Thanks for the debate! When the Constitution was written and it still applies unless amended the authorization of State legislatures being the only ones that could institute election laws in their states prescribing how when and where votes to be cast was to insure the 10th Amendment liberties 'states rights', this is an essential part of our Constitutional Republic & civil liberties. Any changes that don't pass State legislative approval are unconstitutional and a violation of election laws, there's already Federal election laws that don't allow voters to be denied because of race, religion, ethnicity or economic status. Mail in balloting was already available to anyone who applied called absentee ballots, the pandemic didn't change any registered voter's ability to receive it, no one was or is prevented to follow the prescribed method. Every single voter even those of racial minorities or on the lower economic ladder is just a s capable of getting an absentee ballot as anyone else. We all have some form of ID to qualify and for those who don't it's provided free of charge by the states and has been for a very long time, it's the law. I'm sure you're just as concerned as I that each vote cast is legitimate and verifiable so all can be assured elections are above board and accurate. The difference between absentee ballots which are requested and the voter verified eligible versus mailed out ballots that are not is monumental and a legitimate cause for concern. This has nothing to do with which Party is in the majority it has everything to do with legitimate accurate voting. You give no reasonable explanation as to why the Democrats who pushed for unsolicited mailed out ballots because of the pandemic didn't instead ask their voters to apply and receive absentee ballots and it's clear why, they didn't care about the legitimacy of each vote cast. It's very easy to get an absentee ballot no one has to be a brain surgeon, ID is free for the purpose of voting to obtain one if you don't have it prescribed by law in each state and the argument of convenience can't be rationalized superseding our right to know our election results meet the highest standards of legitimacy to ensure public confidence. Furthermore any argument the minorities don't have the wherewithal to get ID is bigoted and a lie because ID has become as common place as have shoes, even children in school have a form of ID to be identified. I appreciate your debate but it's failed on the merits of the argument. Let's debate. The election laws were changed to allow for mail-in balloting. Why? Because of the pandemic. But now, well that was a mistake right? I mean Republicans didn't mean for people to actually use them. The governor of Texas said that had he allowed mail in balloting the state would've voted for Biden. Yes that's factually true. So why prevent mail in ballots? Because Republicans know they are a minority in this country. And the only way they can stay in power is to control who gets to vote. And like any other political party they will do and say anything to keep it that way. Including finding ways to prevent low income people from voting or by allowing an "elector" to invalidate their votes (by changing the election rules). And at the end of the day, do you think these people care about YOU? Do you think they give a shit that you have bills to pay, mouths to feed? Nope. They are there to increase their financial worth. (san jose (santa clara) © craigslist - Map data © OpenStreetMap What we do know with complete certainty is several states had their election laws changed illegally through the courts and State Attorney Generals that had no constitutional jurisdiction to do so, only State legislatures makes elections laws as prescribed by the constitution. That being the case votes cast that didn't meet the standards set by each state's legislatures prior to the election should be deemed invalid. These were the mailed out ballots not requested by eligible voters so much controversy was created. Without them Biden would have lost. The issue isn't as much about fraud as it is illegal ballots cast. Will you debate this salient issue or ignore it, the balls in your court, put or well you know...
