Food Expeditor needed ASAP for busy casual, fine dining restaurant, Nantucket Grill
**Weekend availability is needed - but Sundays are Mandatory!**
(Do not apply if you cannot work Sunday)
Ability to speak Spanish & English is a HUGE plus for this position, especially if you do not have restaurant experience.
What a Food Expeditor does:
Food Tickets are sent to the kitchen for a table of guests. The chefs cook & plate the food, then put all finished entrees under a heat lamp on the "expo line."
Once the plates of food are put on the "expo line" the Expeditor's role is:
1. Read the Food Ticket & grab the entrees that are on that ticket off the expo line
2. Group together all the entrees that are on each Food Ticket
3. Add any garnishes to plate - for example, fries, onion rings, some sauces & dressings, etc.
4. Call for a runner to bring the food out to the table (or, time permitting, run the food to the table)
- If the ticket is a to-go order, the plates of food are to-go, so the expo organizes the to-go food into a bag.
- There is some general/basic prep work as well, such as prepping salads and re-filling dressings, etc.
We are a very busy restaurant, so it can be a lot of pressure and chaos - so only apply if you work well in busy restaurants. The busier shifts you will work with another Expeditor.
Pay:
You receive a base pay and then a percentage of the restaurant's food sales - starting out, you can expect to make an average pay of $15 per hour - HOWEVER, the right person can receive raises that will very quickly bring this average up. Depending on performance & reliability, your first raise will likely come within the first month of working. After that, we will give more raises at set time periods.
*Again, Sundays are mandatory*
Please call or come in to apply
