Description: Equipment and logistical support for two symphony orchestra organizations comprised of primarily young musicians. Work includes setting up music stands, percussion equipment, and chairs prior to rehearsals, assisting the conductor with logistics during rehearsal, putting away and replacing equipment after rehearsals. All equipment is of a moderate weight (approximately 5 to 40 pounds), designed to be easily carried, or has wheels for ease of transportation. Reading and following seating and stage charts will be required for setup. For concert events, Logistics Manager will manage 1 to 2 additional assistants. Requirements: Must enjoy working around elementary to high-school aged children. Background check will be required. Physically capable of moving and caring for valuable but heavy equipment. Ability to read diagrams and set up equipment. Communications skills with administrative and leadership teams. Training: Training will be provided on the job under the mentorship of conductors. You will learn logistical skills as well as the nuances of working with artistic and musical organizations. These organizations are growing with lots of room for new responsibilities and promotion. Hours: Part Time - Thursdays from 2 PM to 10 PM, September through May (with 3 holiday weeks). 15 Saturday morning rehearsals per year from 7 AM to 2 PM at $144 per rehearsal. Additional weekend concerts 6 times per year compensated at $216 per concert. Compensation: $18/hour, $8,856 for the season (September - May). Hourly promotion to $20/hour guaranteed for year 2 upon renewed contract, many promotion opportunities available. Please inquire with our office for next steps.
