Job Description The Landscape Center is looking for General Laborers to take up manual labor tasks and support operations at our Riverside, CA tree growing grounds/nursery. One of the most important general laborer responsibilities is to assist the nursery manager in maintaining a site that is clean and safe. You’ll also get to handle power tools and large heavy equipment (such as tractors.) We’d like you to have the stamina and the ability to lift heavy loads. You should be able to concentrate on performing your tasks and commit to our safety rules. If you fit this description, and you’re also interested in learning about trees which will help further your growth in the company we would like to meet you. Responsibilities • Clean up nursery from hazardous or obsolete material • Assist nursery manager or other tradespeople on-site • Handle and transport materials and equipment within the nursery • Use power tools and machinery (e.g. tractors) when needed • Follow instructions from nursery manager to perform manual labor tasks (e.g. digging, weeding, watering trees, irrigation repair) • Maintain the nursery in a clean and safe manner • Help with growing trees • Report issues with equipment or unsafe conditions Requirements • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of up to 50 pounds etc.) • Good hand-eye coordination • Familiarity with power tools and machinery is a plus • Nursery, landscape or farming experience is a plus • Communication and teamwork skills • Commitment to safety rules • Work schedule is 6 days a week (Monday – Saturday) 8+ hours per day Qualified applicants only.
